Project Associates

Our research group at CSIR-IICT is currently expanding, and we have openings for Project Associate positions.

Walk-in Interview: The walk-in interview is tentatively planned for late October or early November. The exact date and official notification will be updated here once available. Please keep an eye on the Official CSIR-IICT Notification for updates.

What We Look For

We care less about your exact academic background and more about your curiosity, research interests, and willingness to learn. You may be interested in one of our existing research directions, or you may have an idea for a new direction that you think could be a good fit for the group.

That said, from both research and career-development perspectives, a background in one or more of the following areas would be useful (listed in no particular order):

• Physical Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science, with experience or a strong interest in computational methods.
• Engineering: Chemical or Materials Engineering, with an interest in developing or applying multiscale computational modelling approaches to chemical or materials systems.
• Computational Sciences: Computer Science, Data Science, or Informatics, with a strong interest in applying AI/ML methods to molecular or materials discovery.

Above all, we value curiosity, willingness to learn, the ability to contribute to collaborative research, and clear communication.

PhD Students

We typically recruit through the department’s regular PhD program which requires own JRF (CSIR/UGC/ICMR/INSPIRE) fellowships. Reach out by email with a short note about why do you think our group would be a good fit and what would you like to work on and a CV, no formal cover letter/SOP are required. Please not that as we are just kicking off, the earliest one can join for PhD in the group would be tentatively January 2027.

Postdocs

At the moment, we do not always have open postdoc positions, but we are glad to help strong applicants apply for their own or institute fellowship if available.
